Luis Severino First In AL To Nine Wins
7 years agoTaking the mound in the first game of a doubleheader Monday afternoon, New York Yankees ace Luis Severino would emerge with sole possession of most victories in the American League. The 24-year-old went eight strong innings, surrendering just one earned run on four hits and no walks. He would strike out 10, finishing off his impressive performance with 112 pitches under his belt. With the victory, Severino’s record moved to nine wins and one loss with a 2.20 ERA. The nine victories are tied with Washington’s Max Scherzer for most in all of baseball, with Severino's quest for a 10th victory scheduled for Sunday night against the New York Mets.
