Luis Castillo Roughed Up In Third Straight Start
7 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Luis Castillo had his third straight poor outing in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Cardinals. The 25-year-old allowed five runs on four hits and three walks with 10 strikeouts in six innings. The damage came on back-to-back home runs in the first inning and a bases-clearing double in the third. Castillo has not looked like the budding star he appeared to be last season, and now owns a 4-7 record with a hefty 5.79 ERA and a 1.85 HR/9 rate, one of the worst in baseball. He is slated to face a tough Pirates matchup Saturday, and fantasy owners now need to consider benching Castillo until he can prove that he can still perform well.
