Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Continuing To Struggle At The Dish
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. has yet to find his groove at the plate so far in 2021. Through 31 games, Gurriel is slashing .200/.223/.287 with two home runs, four doubles, nine RBI and nine runs. He has a hard-hit rate of just 34.4%, down from 49.4% last year. His .229 wOBA on the year ranks him in the bottom 5% of the league. He also ranks in the bottom 2% of the league with his minuscule 2.5% walk rate. Gurriel has been a must-roster outfielder in most leagues since his mid-2019 breakout. But fantasy managers might want to start thinking about jumping ship this year, especially with the scary underlying peripherals. In the deepest of leagues, he's worth holding in a bench spot if possible, but he's certainly a drop candidate in all leagues if there's a hot outfielder on the waiver wire.
