Kyler Murray Won't Play If He Can't Play At High Level In Pocket
3 years agoArizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (ankle), who will be a game-time decision in Week 9 against the San Francisco 49ers, will not play on Sunday unless he can function at a "high level" from the pocket, according to head coach Kliff Kingsbury. Murray's left ankle sprain has been progressing, but he didn't practice all week. The good news is that Kingsbury is comfortable playing Murray despite the fact that he didn't practice all week, provided that he can prove that he can function at a high level in the pocket during pre-game workouts. Murray will be worth using as a midrange QB1 if he's active, but the problem is fantasy managers may not know his status until later on Sunday with Arizona kicking off at 4:25 pm ET. If he doesn't get clearance, backup Colt McCoy will run the offense, and he could be without receivers DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) and A.J. Green.
