Kyle Schwarber Returns To Action Against Mets
Kyle Schwarber (calf) is back in the starting lineup on Friday against the New York Mets and right-hander Chris Bassitt, serving as the designated hitter and batting leadoff. Schwarber missed a full week with a right calf strain that he suffered on Aug. 11, but he'll be back in there to begin a big weekend series against the division-rival Mets. The 29-year-old left-handed slugger is hitting only .210 on the season, but he was hot at the plate before his injury and also has 34 long balls, 69 RBI, 71 runs scored and six stolen bases in 409 at-bats in his first season in Philly. Fantasy managers will want to get him back into their lineups in season-long leagues.
