4 years agoTexas Rangers pitcher Kohei Arihara struck out six Los Angeles Angels batters during the club's 6-4 victory on Monday. He threw 5 2/3 shutout innings and allowed just two hits and two walks. The veteran hurler, who pitched for six seasons in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball league, entered his career in North America with just two strikeouts through his first two games. Over the last two contests, he's whiffed 11 batters in 11 1/3 innings which makes him a much more attractive fantasy option at this point. He's also recorded two wins in those last two games. Overall, Arihara has a 2.21 ERA with a K-BB of 13-3 with 16 hits allowed in 20 1/3 innings of work.
