Kliff Kingsbury Willing To Give Up Play-Calling Duties
2 years agoArizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said he's willing to give up play-calling duties to improve the offense moving forward. "I'm open to anything that helps us win and score more points. We're going to see where everything goes, but yeah, whatever it takes to win," Kingsbury said. After their Week 6 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, the Cardinals offense ranks 22nd in scoring and 16th in total offense. Quarterback Kyler Murray's passer rating of 81.8 ranks 24th and is the lowest of his career. The Arizona offense will get receiver DeAndre Hopkins back from a suspension in Week 7 against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night, but it remains to be seen how much that'll help the offense. Assistant coach Spencer Whipple served as a play-caller last year with the Browns, so he could take over for Kingsbury if they decide to make the move.
