Keibert Ruiz Slaps Three Hits In Losing Effort
1 year agoWashington Nationals catcher Keibert Ruiz went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in the team's 5-3 loss against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday. Ruiz has now picked up multiple hits in three of his last six games, although he's gone hitless in the other three contests. He's hitting .250 (13-for-52) with a homer, three doubles, four RBI and three runs scored in 13 games in the month of June. The 24-year-old is slashing .240/.300/.389 on the season with a career-high eight home runs, 10 doubles, 27 RBI and 20 runs scored in 250 plate appearances over 60 games. Whether it be behind the plate or as the designated hitter like on Thursday, Ruiz is playing nearly every day for the Nationals in 2023.
