2 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez is starting in center field and is hitting third in the batting order on Friday against the Detroit Tigers and left-hander Matthew Boyd. The slumping Rodriguez was moved out of the leadoff spot for the first time this year and into the six-hole on Wednesday against a right-hander, but he'll move back up the order into a prime spot against a southpaw on Friday. The 22-year-old American League Rookie of the Year in 2022 hasn't really fared well at all so far in his sophomore season, as he's batting just .205 (30-for-146) with six home runs, six steals, 15 RBI and 22 runs scored in 35 games played. Against lefties he's been even worse, going 6-for-34 (.177) with three doubles and a home run in 38 plate appearances.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
