Jose Caballero Swinging A Hot Bat
2 years agoSeattle Mariners rookie infielder Jose Caballero went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and a strikeout in the team's 2-1 loss to the visiting Texas Rangers on Monday night. Caballero now has a modest five-game hitting streak, and he's gone 11-for-36 (.306) with three doubles, four RBI, three stolen bases and six runs scored in his first 14 major-league contests. The 26-year-old was filling in for J.P. Crawford (knee) at the 6 after he was scratched from Monday's lineup. Caballero has gotten off to a nice start after spending six seasons in the minor leagues, but he won't really be a waiver-wire consideration unless Crawford is forced to the injured list because of his knee injury.
