Jose Altuve Questionable For Opening Day
4 years agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve is listed as day-to-day and is questionable for Opening Day with a leg contusion. Altuve left Tuesday's exhibition game after failing to slide while trying to tag from third base on a sacrifice fly. Manager Dusty Baker is hopeful the former MVP will be ready by Friday's opener. Altuve battled a hamstring last season but still had a fantastic 2019, hitting .291 with 31 home runs and 74 runs batted in, including hitting .325 after the All-Star break. The slugger's offseason has been marred with controversy surrounding the Astros cheating scandal, but he still is a highly coveted fantasy option at the second base position.
