Jose Altuve Getting Monday Off
5 months agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve will get the day off on Monday on the road against the Toronto Blue Jays. Altuve will take a seat a day after being ejected in the seventh inning of Sunday's contest against the New York Mets. It's just the All-Star's third day off of the season. The 34-year-old veteran Venezuelan infielder has been excellent yet again for the Astros and fantasy managers in 2024, as he's currently hitting a cool .304/.353/.469 with an .822 OPS, 13 home runs, 37 RBI, 13 stolen bases and 50 runs scored in 339 at-bats after playing in only 90 games in 2023 due to injuries. The eight-time All-Star is a must-start in fantasy anytime he's in the lineup. Mauricio Dubon will replace Altuve at second base on Monday and will bat seventh against Blue Jays rookie right-hander Yariel Rodriguez.
