New York Yankees starting pitcher Jordan Montgomery looked good on Friday, allowing one run over 5.2 innings against the Red Sox. Montgomery’s velocity was reportedly up this preseason, and that uptick has carried into the regular season with Montgomery’s fastball averaging 93 mph and touching 95 mph on Friday. Also encouraging is that Montgomery generated a 13% swinging-strike on Friday. It’s important not to overreact to one game, but Montgomery should have fantasy players excited and appears primed for a breakout season.--Sam Chinitz
