Jordan Love Ready To Start If Needed
4 years agoGreen Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love said that he will be ready to start in Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints if Aaron Rodgers' tenure with the team is finished. The Packers traded up to take Love in the first round of the 2020 draft, and he's looked much improved at the team's minicamp this week. He struggled with accuracy and completed barely more than half of his throws on Monday, but he shined on Tuesday. The second-year signal-caller completed 20 of 32 passes during 11-on-11 drills on Tuesday. The Packers have allowed Love to stay on the field for long stretches without Rodgers around, and he'll be their insurance in case Rodgers continues his holdout into training camp and beyond. The 22-year-old is getting valuable experience after serving as the third-string QB all year and not being active at all, but that doesn't mean he'll be fantasy relevant if he's thrown into the fire in 2021.
