Chicago Blackhawks center Jonathan Toews opened the scoring during a 3-2 overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday night. Despite the Blackhawks recent struggles, Toews has had a strong start to the season. The top-line pivot has nine goals, five assists, and 54 shots through 18 games. Aside from the lockout-shortened 2013-13 campaign, Toews has never scored less than 50 points in a season throughout his 12-year NHL career. He has never produced ridiculous offensive numbers but does enough to be owned in all fantasy formats. Patrick Kane recently moved up to his line, which boosts his fantasy value even higher. Toews is a mid-tier C2 for fantasy purposes.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
