Johan Rojas Sent To The Minors
6 months agoThe Philadelphia Phillies optioned outfielder Johan Rojas to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday and reinstated shortstop Trea Turner (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Rojas could use some work in the minors after slashing .235/.271/.295 with two home runs, 19 RBI, 14 stolen bases, 21 runs scored, just seven walks and 31 strikeouts in 196 plate appearances in 58 games in his sophomore season for the Phillies. It's been a big step back offensively after he hit .302 in 59 games in his rookie year in 2023. The 23-year-old has a good chance to be back with the Phillies again this year, but for now, the team will go with a platoon in center field between Brandon Marsh and Cristian Pache, with Marsh seeing most of the starts against right-handed pitching.
