Joey Gallo Goes Deep In First Game Back
2 years agoMinnesota Twins first baseman Joey Gallo went 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI, a run scored and a strikeout in the team's 10-4 win over the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday in his first game back from the injured list. Gallo missed a little time with a minor right intercostal strain, and he showed on Wednesday that he's pretty healthy by hitting his fourth home run of the season in just his eighth game. The 29-year-old left-handed slugger hit rock bottom in 2022 with the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers, but he appears to have rediscovered his power stroke early in 2023 with the Twins. Gallo will have his share of strikeouts, but the power is elite when he's connecting.
