Joe Mixon Set For Large Workload
3 years agoCincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon is expected to have the largest workload of his career with Giovani Bernard no longer in town. The Athletic's Paul Dehner Jr. expects Mixon to have another 15 to 20 receptions. Samaje Perine will give Mixon a breather when needed, and rookie Chris Evans should earn a portion of the passing work as the year progresses, but for the most part, it'll be Mixon's backfield. Dehner thinks Mixon could have an 80 percent snap rate, which should translate to RB1 numbers, barring an injury along the way. The 24-year-old is one of the most talented backs in the NFL, and with the expected improvement in this offense, he should come at an excellent discount as an RB1 because of his injury issues last year.
