Joe Burrow Wants To Create More Explosive Deep Plays
4 years agoCincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow said he wants to improve on his deep-ball accuracy in his second season in order to create more explosive deep plays. Burrow completed just nine of 46 attempts of 20-plus air yards in his rookie season for 293 yards and one touchdown, according to Next Gen Stats. His 19.6 completion percentage and -9.1 completion percentage over expectation were the worst among all QBs with at least 40 deep throws. Burrow said he's at 85 percent strength last week in his rehab from a torn ACL, and he should be ready to go for Week 1 against the Vikings with a solid trio of wide receivers in Tyler Boyd, Tee Higgins and first-rounder Ja'Marr Chase. If Cincy's offensive line can protect the second-year quarterback, Burrow will have clear QB1 upside.
