New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas said that he'll meet with safety Jamal Adams after the draft to talk about a contract. It doesn't sound like the two sides have had recent contract talks, but Douglas said he plans to "keep Jamal here for a long time." The Jets aren't in any rush to sign Adams to a lucrative new deal with him still under team control possibly through the 2022 season if they use the franchise tag on him. But Adams has voiced his unpleasure with his current contract since he's outplayed it. Adams doesn't have the interception numbers, but he's one of the best safeties in the league at defending the run while being extremely physical. If the Jets extend him before the 2020 season, he could become the highest paid safety in the NFL.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
