Jayden Reed 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: Proceed With Cautious Optimism
6 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed is currently being drafted as the WR32 with an ADP of 65.52. RotoBaller is slightly lower on Reed, with a ranking of WR34. Reed is talented, but this is a crowded receiving room. Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, Luke Musgrave, and Tucker Kraft all contribute to the embarrassment of riches in Green Bay. The wild card is Christian Watson. Watson has not stayed healthy in his two NFL seasons. He has suffered from numerous soft-tissue injuries that are unfortunately bound to recur. Reed benefitted from Watson's absences throughout 2023 on his way to 912 total yards and 10 total touchdowns. However, when Watson was healthy, he was the No. 1 wide receiver in the offense. Reed is too talented to keep off the field. If Watson's injury woes continue, the Packers could turn to Reed as their top target in the offense. Assuming a healthy season from Watson, expect Reed to slot into a Curtis Samuel-type role. He should see plenty of short-yardage volume, several carries, and score a fair number of touchdowns in the red zone. However, do not expect Reed to score touchdowns at the same rate he did in 2023, with one touchdown every 7.5 touches.
