Javier Baez Sitting Out Monday
1 year agoDetroit Tigers shortstop Javier Baez is not in the team's starting lineup on Monday against the visiting Kansas City Royals. It's just a normal day of rest to begin the week for Baez, who went 5-for-15 with a home run, two triples, six RBI, a stolen base and four runs scored in the four-game series against the Minnesota Twins over the weekend. He has been hitting much better in the month of June, going 17-for-65 (.262) with a double, three triples, two home runs, eight RBI, three stolen bases and eight runs scored in 16 games for the Tigers. With Baez resting on Monday, Zack Short is starting at shortstop and batting in the nine-hole against Royals right-hander Jordan Lyles.
