Jason Garrett Expected To Return As Offensive Coordinator
4 years agoNew York Giants offensive coordinator Jason Garrett is expected to return for the 2021 season after the team finished 31st in total offense and points scored in 2020, according to a source. However, there will be potential internal alterations when it comes to the responsibilities of those on staff. Quarterbacks coach Jerry Schuplinski, wide receivers coach Tyke Tolbert and tight ends coach Freddie Kitchens could have increased responsibility. The Giants are also looking for a new offensive line coach. The belief is that stability for quarterback Daniel Jones -- he's had two offensive coordinators in his two seasons -- and the offense could be valuable. The 54-year-old Garrett must show improvement in Year 2 and will need to gel better with head coach Joe Judge to keep his job past 2021. Getting running back Saquon Barkley (knee) back healthy will be a huge boost.
