Potentially putting himself in title talks with his main-event win, Jared Cannonier took a close one from the judges, edging out Kelvin Gastelum (48-47, 48-47, 48-47) on Saturday night. Though the contest went 25 minutes, Cannonier was unable to meet the striking total of many of the other competitors on the card, tallying just 81 significant strikes (91 total strikes) while absorbing 89 strikes. Statistically, the fighters were nearly identical, with neither fighter attempting a takedown. Cannonier is always in the fight with his tremendous power at middleweight. Depending on how the very top of the division shakes out, Cannonier could find himself in title talks very soon.--Matt Bricker
