James Conner Likely To Play Sunday
3 years agoArizona Cardinals running back James Conner (ankle), who returned to practice on Friday after missing the previous two days, is likely to play on Sunday against the Detroit Lions. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury is confident that Conner will be available. Conner has been the biggest steal of fantasy drafts in 2021 and was the workhorse while Chase Edmonds (knee) was on Injured Reserve. In five games, he had 85 carries for 303 rushing yards and six touchdowns. Conner's 14 rushing TDs ranks him second in the NFL, behind only Jonathan Taylor. The 26-year-old has been a must-start all year in his first year in Arizona, although Edmonds' return this weekend will put a dent in his overall production and upside. But against a Detroit Lions team allowing the second-most fantasy points per game to RBs, Conner is still a must-start as a high-end RB2.
