Jamaal Williams Prepared To Carry The Load
3 years agoDetroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell said that running back Jamaal Williams is prepared to carry the load with D'Andre Swift (shoulder) potentially missing multiple games. "Certainly, we're gonna lean on Jamaal quite a bit, but were gonna use Godwin Igwebuike, we're gonna use Jermar Jefferson. That's part of the plan. They're all gonna be able to play," Campbell said. With Swift getting injured early in last week's Thanksgiving game against the Chicago Bears, Williams saw 20 touches (15 carries, five catches) and gained 73 total yards in the loss. The 26-year-old should be expected to receiver another heavy workload against a Minnesota Vikings defense that has allowed the third-most rushing yards per game (134.4) this year. Williams will have RB2 upside with Swift expected to be out.
