Jaleel McLaughlin Losing Touches In Denver's Backfield
1 year agoThere's no doubt that Denver Broncos undrafted rookie running back Jaleel McLaughlin has earned his way into the No. 2 role ahead of Samaje Perine in his first NFL season. However, with lead back Javonte Williams seeing 55 touches in the last two weeks, there has been little left for McLaughlin in Denver's backfield. The 23-year-old is still averaging a healthy 6.3 yards per carry on 44 carries through his first nine games in the league, but it's looking like the Broncos are intent on feeding Williams moving forward. In the last two games with Williams taking on more work, McLaughlin has 10 carries for 41 yards and has caught all four of his targets for 10 additional yards. As long as Williams continues to see this kind of workload, the rookie McLaughlin will be hard to recommend as anything more than an RB3/flex in the deepest of fantasy leagues heading into a Week 11 tilt against the Minnesota Vikings.
