Jake Eder Likely To Debut In Wednesday's Doubleheader
Jake Eder, who is serving as the 27th man on Wednesday for the doubleheader against the visiting Minnesota Twins, will make his major-league debut out of the bullpen. Grifol said there's "a good chance." "If I get the opportunity to put him in, I'm putting him in there. I'm not going to hesitate at all. I have confidence in him, we all do. That's why he's here. It'll be nice to see him. He's a big part of the future," Grifol added. The 25-year-old southpaw was recalled from Double-A Birmingham after posting a 5.09 ERA with 86 strikeouts and 31 walks in 74 1/3 innings for the Barons. Eder is the team's No. 10 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, but he's likely to head right back to Birmingham after Wednesday's twin bill.
