Jacob deGrom Strikes Out 14, Earns Win
Jacob deGrom. The reigning NL Cy Young winner easily handled the lowly Miami Marlins, going seven innings and allowing just three hits and a walk. He struck out 14 batters, the most he's ever recorded in one game. Rounding out a sensational performance, he smacked a home run to help himself out, scoring one of six runs his offense would record on the night. Along with deGrom, the Mets are rolling early on, now 5-1 on the year.
