Jack Flaherty Moving To The Dodgers
5 months agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Jack Flaherty has been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday. Unsurprisingly, Flaherty has been moved after having a resurgence in Detroit. He has a 2.95 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, and 133/19 K/BB ratio across 18 starts. It appears the Dodgers made a pivot to Flaherty after failing to acquire Tarik Skubal or Garrett Crochet. However, Flaherty is a significant upgrade to the injury plagued Dodgers rotation. In return, the Tigers acquired infielders Thayron Liranzo and Trey Sweeney. This is a bit of an underwhelming return for Flaherty, but it's worth noting he's only on a one-year deal. The fact he's due to be a free agent this offseason likely impacted the value on his return.
