The Vegas Golden Knights acquired center Jack Eichel on Thursday from the Buffalo Sabres, giving up forwards Peyton Krebs, Alex Tuch, a future first-round draft pick and a future second-rounder. Eichel's status in Buffalo had been in limbo due to disagreements with the club on how to treat a herniated disk and he hasn't yet played this season. Injury-hit Vegas would love to have him available straight away, but Eichel's debut will have to wait for a while, with him now heading to surgery to get an artificial disk replacement. There's a strong chance that the surgery will be done as early as this week, and Eichel, who boasts 355 career points through 375 regular-season appearances, would then be expected to be cleared to skate in six weeks.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
