Right-winger Ilya Kovalchuk inked a two-year contract to return to the Kontinental Hockey League on Saturday. The 37-year-old, who will play with Avangard this season, bounced around in what can likely be considered his final NHL season in 2019-2020 - skating with the Los Angeles Kings, Montreal Canadiens and Washington Capitals. The once electrifying sniper will close out his 926-game NHL career with 876 points (443 goals, 433 assists), in addition to recording six 40-plus goal seasons. Kovalchuk has put together an impressive career in the KHL as well and will look to build upon his 327 points (138 goals, 189 assists) in 298 regular-season contests. --Chase Davis - RotoBaller
