Hideki Matsuyama Returns To Japan For ZOZO Championship
3 years agoHideki Matsuyama will have an entire country's support this week, as he returns home to Japan to compete in the ZOZO Championship. Already a star in Japan, Matsuyama's breakthrough victory at the Masters earlier this year sent him into the stratosphere in his home country. He scored a runner-up finish to Tiger Woods in the 2020 edition of the ZOZO at Narashino Country Club and should once again be firmly in the mix this year. Matsuyama is a world-class ball-striker but has struggled mightily on the greens as of late. He lost an abysmal 9.6 strokes putting in last week's CJ Cup and will need to improve on the greens in order to win this week. His familiarity with this golf course and elite tee-to-green ability makes him a high-priority PGA DFS option on this slate.
