Gregory Polanco Falls Just Shy Of His First Home Run
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates right fielder Gregory Polanco finished 1-for-4 with a double and run batted in during Wednesday's win over the Texas Rangers. His RBI double in the seventh hit the middle of the center field wall, just feet away from his first long ball of the season. Nine games back from the injured list, Polanco has one RBI and three runs scored. He's still getting adjusted at the plate, but Wednesday's near homer is a sign that he isn't far off. The Pirates will face lefty Brett Anderson on Friday as part of a three-game series with Oakland. Let Polanco sit against the southpaw, but the 27-year-old is due for a breakout game soon, possibly against an Oakland right-hander this weekend.
