Giancarlo Stanton Scratched From Rehab Game Tuesday
6 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (calf, knee) was scratched from the lineup for High-A Tampa on Tuesday with tightness in his calf/knee, according to manager Aaron Boone. However, Boone said that Stanton might be able to play on Wednesday, so it doesn't seem to be a serious setback after the slugger was hit by a pitch in the same area earlier this week. Stanton has been out since early April and will need substantial rehab at-bats to get back in the flow, but he should return to the lineup for the Yanks by the end of the month. When he returns, he'll once again be a must-start.
