Giancarlo Stanton Going On Injured list
2 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) is going on the 10-day injured list on Sunday with a strained hamstring. He will go for an MRI exam on Sunday. Stanton injured his hamstring while running the bases in Saturday's game, and he'll miss at least the next 10 days as a result. In a corresponding move, the Yankees called up outfielder Oswald Peraza from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. With Stanton out on Sunday, Willie Calhoun is serving as the designated hitter and is batting sixth against Minnesota Twins right-hander Pablo Lopez. Stanton should be stashed in all formats for his elite power. In 13 games before landing on the injured list, the 33-year-old slugger was hitting .269 (14-for-52) with three doubles, four home runs, 11 RBI and seven runs scored in 54 plate appearances.
