German Marquez Knocked Around In Arizona
6 years agoIn a rare hiccup on the road, Colorado Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez was hit hard by the Diamondbacks on Friday. Marquez would end up with a no-decision after a late-inning rally by his offense, but he allowed six runs in five innings while walking three and striking out six. It was only the second time this season that Marquez has allowed more than two earned runs on the road, and it was his first time walking three batters in an outing in a month. Marquez has struggled mightily at home, but his 5.00 season ERA hides the fact that he's still rocking a 3.15 ERA on the road. Hopefully, this was a one-off, and he can still be useful in road starts in the future.
