Gerardo Parra Snaps Out Of Slump
6 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Gerardo Parra is definitely out of his slump now. After wasting away for nearly a month, Parra went off on the Cardinals pitcher staff over the course of their four-game set. Parra finished the series 8-for-16 with a pair of doubles, three RBI, and two runs scored. The 31-year-old outfielder capped off the series by smacking three singles in the final game, giving him his first three-hit game in nearly two months. Even with his slump, Parra has done enough to ensure he'll remain the go-to left fielder against right-handed pitchers for the rest of the season. With the team's plethora of outfield prospects and his impending possible free agency ($12m team option in 2019), he could see diminished playing time in September.
