Garrett Cooper Hits Another Home Run On Friday
4 years agoMiami Marlins first baseman/outfielder Garrett Cooper stayed hot on Friday, hitting a two-run home run in a 6-5 extra inning loss to the New York Mets. Cooper ended up 2-for-5 with the home run and a single. He scored a run and drove in two. All of this after he hit a triple and a homer the night before. Based on Don Mattingly's management and lineup decisions, this hot streak means Cooper will have Saturday off. Shade aside, Cooper is finally heating up after a tough April and three weeks of May. He's improved his batting average to .227 and his OPS to .668. He has four home runs and 17 RBI. If he stays hot, he's always been a good hitter and should provide value to mixed league teams.
