Francisco Lindor Could Be A Target For Blue Jays
4 years agoRival executives are expecting the Toronto Blue Jays to be among the big-spending teams in the offseason, and Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor could be one of their targets. Many expect Lindor to be traded before Opening Day, as he's in his final year of arbitration eligibility after earning a prorated portion of his $17.5 million salary in 2020. Blue Jays president and CEO Mark Shapiro and general manager Ross Atkins were in the Indians front office when the team drafted Lindor with the eighth overall pick in 2011. Bo Bichette is currently at the 6 in Toronto, but they could move him to third base to accommodate Lindor. The start shortstop is projected to earn around $21 million in salary arbitration for the 2021 season.
