Felix Hernandez Takes 6.28 ERA In May Into Tuesday's Start
7 years agoSeattle Mariners starter Felix Hernandez will be looking for a quality start when he takes the mound Tuesday night against the Rangers. Over his last five starts, Hernandez has a 6.28 ERA, 29 hits, 14 walks and 20 earned runs over his last 28 2/3 innings pitched. The veteran is being absolutely torched by right-handed hitters through the first two months of the season, allowing a .366 batting average to righties. Hernandez can be counted on for five to six innings every time he takes the ball, but his effectiveness has not been top-of-the-rotation type of production. He already has allowed 10 home runs in 61 1/3 innings pitched this season and will need to keep the ball in the ballpark pitching in Texas on Tuesday night.
