Ezequiel Duran Called Up, Josh Smith Placed On IL
The Texas Rangers recalled MLB Pipeline's number 76 prospect, third baseman Ezequiel Duran, on Saturday. Duran hit the cover off the ball for AA Frisco this season, slashing .317/.365/.574 with seven home runs and seven stolen bases. He has five-category potential and is worthy of a speculative add in most leagues. To make room for Duran, the Rangers also placed third baseman Josh Smith on the 10-day IL with a left shoulder sprain. Smith went five-for-twelve with a stolen base in his first five games.
