Evan Carter Could Hit Third In Game 3 Against Astros
1 year agoTexas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said on Tuesday that he was considering hitting rookie outfielder Evan Carter in the three-hole for Game 3 of the American League Championship Series on Wednesday against Houston Astros right-hander Cristian Javier. Carter had previously been hitting fifth in the Rangers lineup. Despite being hot with the lumber in his first postseason, Carter took a seat on the bench to start Game 2 on Monday with the Astros throwing left-hander Framber Valdez. The 21-year-old left-handed hitter has gone an impressive 7-for-20 (.350) with a home runs, four doubles, three RBI, seven walks, a stolen base and four runs scored in his first seven playoff games. Carter has never faced Javier in his career.
