Ottawa Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson scored a goal and added an assist in the 7-4 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Karlsson over the last offseason had surgery to repair hairline fractures in his heel and muscle damage in his ankle and visibly was not the same player upon returning way back in October. This was ultimately a large factor in why Ottawa plummeted in the standings. However, as of late, Karlsson has returned to his usual dominant form from last season. Since February, Karlsson has racked up 22 points in 21 games and just from watching the games alone, fans can attest to improvements in his defensive game compared to the beginning of the season. The two points put him at 54 points in 64 games, and he will remain one of fantasy's top options for defensemen next season.--Caden
