Emmet Sheehan to Start on Wednesday
Emmet Sheehan (elbow) will be activated from the 60-day injured list to make his 2025 season debut on Wednesday against the division-rival San Diego Padres, according to David Vassegh. Even though the Padres have had their fair share of offensive struggles of late, Sheehan won't be a recommended fantasy streamer in his first start in the big leagues since having Tommy John surgery in May of last year that caused him to miss all of the 2024 season. The 25-year-old made his big-league debut with L.A. in 2023 and posted a 4.92 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with 64 K's and 26 walks in 60 1/3 innings over 13 outings (11 starts). Sheehan threw only 63 pitches in his final rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City last Thursday, so he's unlikely to go deep in Wednesday's outing. As soon as one of the Dodgers' injured starters returns from the IL, Sheehan will most likely move to a relief role.
