Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Elvis Merzlikins tallied his first shutout of the season on Wednesday, stopping 36 shots in a 3-0 win over Winnipeg. The Latvian continues to perform very well on home ice, where he's gone 7-1-0 this season. Merzlikins's overall record isn't too shabby either at 8-3-0. He's allowed 2.44 goals per game with a .926 save percentage. The Blue Jackets No. 1 had struggled lately by giving up three-plus goals in four straight starts, but keeping the Jets at bay is no mean feat, so Merzlikins will have gotten a nice boost for his confidence with this outing.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
