Eloy Jimenez Out With Sore Heel
1 year agoUpdating a previous report, Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (heel) is out of the starting lineup for the second straight game on Friday against the Cleveland Guardians due to a sore heel, according to manager Pedro Grifol. With Jimenez out, Oscar Colas is serving as the designated hitter and batting eighth against Guardians left-hander Logan Allen. Consider the 26-year-old Jimenez to be day-to-day for now. Hopefully he'll be able to play at some point this weekend in the series in Cleveland. In his 285 at-bats as a regular for the White Sox in 2023 when he's been healthy, Jimenez has hit a strong .281/.325/.467 with 13 home runs, 47 RBI and 33 runs scored in 74 games. He's missed his fair share of games in his big-league career due to injuries and has played in over 100 games in a season just once, back in 2019 in his rookie campaign.
