Eduardo Rodriguez Throws Live Batting Practice
4 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez (heart) threw live batting practice on Tuesday for the first time in spring training after missing all of the 2020 season due to inflammation of his heart. Manager Alex Cora said that Rodriguez "looks good" and that the ball was coming out of his hand effortlessly like before. Now the leader of Boston's pitching staff with Chris Sale (elbow) not expected back until midseason, E-Rod will be the team's likely Opening Day starter on April 1 against the Orioles. At times the left-hander can have issues with his command, but he has consistently limited hard contact and will rack up strikeouts for fantasy managers as a viable late-round pitching target with upside.
