2 months agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dylan Carlson, the team's No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, was promoted from Double-A Springfield to Triple-A Memphis on Thursday after the 20-year-old switch-hitter led the Texas League with 21 home runs, 51 extra-base hits, 216 total bases, a .518 slugging percentage and 81 runs scored in 108 games. His exploits this year have put him as MLB.com's No. 51 overall prospect, and he was also a participant in this year's Futures Game. The former first-rounder in 2016 has serious offensive potential at the next level, but St. Louis is crowded with outfielders at the major league level, so we may not see him until sometime in 2020.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
