Dwayne Haskins Jr. Named Week 1 Starter
4 years agoWashington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera announced on Wednesday that quarterback Dwayne Haskins Jr. will be the team's Week 1 starter against the Eagles. Haskins has predictably won the competition over Alex Smith and Kyle Allen. The second-year signal-caller threw for 1,365 yards, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions in nine games in his rookie season. He also added 101 rushing yards. The 23-year-old didn't stand out at all last year, but he was making strides late in the year. He has an entire new coaching staff in 2020, too, so we'd expect more growing pains from the former Ohio State QB. The offensive line is a big question mark, and he doesn't exactly have a ton of stars in the passing game. Haskins is a low-end QB2 for those in superflex leagues.
